Cabinet approves Rs 9,300 cr capital infusion in IDBI Bank
The Cabinet approved a capital infusion plan worth Rs. 9,300 crore for IDBI Bank. The Cabinet cleared the IDBI Bank recapitalisation plan with a one-time infusion of funds by the government and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said. The recapitalisation plan will put IDBI Bank “in the front foot to take the normal banking activities to the next level”. Shares in IDBI Bank jumped as much as 10.84 per cent during the session after the announcement.
OBC, Gen category students to also benefit from Delhi’s ‘Jai Bheem Mukhyamantri Yojana’
The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday decided to include other backward class and general category students in its ‘Jai Bheem Mukhyamantri Yojana’, and enhance financial assistance from ₹40,000 to ₹1 lakh for coaching for various competitive exams.
Briefing reporters on the Cabinet decisions, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that earlier, the scheme was only for the scheduled caste category students under which financial assistance of up to ₹40,000 would be provided.
